Lego Engineers

Teacher: Mary Blair

Everything is AWESOME...everything is cool when you’re part of Miss Blair’s Lego Team!  Entering our Lego environment, you will be blown away by the thousands of Lego bricks at your fingertips. This year we have added motors and electrical components to our collection. To ramp up the fun, you will participate in daily Lego challenges.  Become a MASTER LEGO ENGINEER this summer!

 

Money Mayhem

Teacher: Scott Sommer

Make it…save it…spend it…what do I do with all this money??  In this class you will face some real life challenges on what to do with money and maybe even how to earn some!  Will you be able to save your company from bankruptcy or will you be forced to sell lemonade for pennies?  Become a financial guru in this class!

Beyond the Stage

Teacher: Nikki Barger

Ever wonder what happens behind the camera? This class will look into the technical aspects of theatre by looking into the jobs of stage designers, lighting designers, stage crew, and choreographers. By the end of the week you will light up your stage and create your very own sword fight. Hey, what's life without a little drama?!

Forensics

Teacher: Stacy Evers

Broken glass, hair, fingerprints, and spots of blood—what can it all mean? If you take this class you will learn how to analyze and put together clues like this and many more to solve an actual crime scene at Camp Inquire. Be prepared to use all your senses and the training you’ll receive in this class to solve the crime and earn the reward being offered!

Breakout!

Teacher: Sarah Regedanz

AHHH!  Your worst nightmare has come true! You are trapped...in a classroom! Luckily, you are a clever sort of person and can unlock your problem solving skills when you need them the most.  You will use clues to solve puzzles, riddles, and problems.  One clue will lead to another...Until you can hopefully BREAKOUT!

Uke’ Can Do It

Teacher: Shane Vanover

Aloha!  Want to learn to play a song on the ukulele?  Guess what, uke’ can in this class!  We will learn how to play a song on this small and fun musical instrument from Hawaii.  We will also learn about the history of the ukulele, Hawaiian island culture, and about the uke's role in music today.  Come join this luau of music and fun!

Around the World

Teacher: Tiffany Temple

Are you interested in traveling the world? Ever wonder what it's like to live in a different country? Do you want to know what your name is in another language? Come travel "Around the World" in 5 days! Dive into culture, language, currency, landmarks, food, fashion, traditions, and much more! Campers will explore and discover various cultures from around the globe and face fun challenges along the way!  Grab your passport and let's go!

Green Thumbs

Teacher: Kristen Kerns

No ground to garden in? No problem! In this class we will be reconnecting students with the natural world and the true source of their food. We will be decorating containers, and planting our own vegetables and fruits. You can blossom in the garden after learning a few tricks to turn your thumb green.

Extreme Construction

Teacher: April Albers

Can you be a master builder without cracking under the pressure? Hopefully, the structures you create can still stand under extreme forces of nature without damage! Design and build the tallest and strongest structures at camp and see whose will survive the test.

Sixty Seconds to Succeed

Teacher: Carrie Gladhill

Are you up to the challenge to beat the clock?  In this class, you will need a quick mind and quick body to complete the task.  Work with team members to show and improve your speedy problem-solving skills!

Where's Newton?!

Whoever said "breaking the law is fun" never hung out with Isaac Newton. In this class, you will become Sir Isaac Newton yourself as you experiment with some crazy forces in our lives and see why his laws stay true. By the end of the week you will shoot your studies into the air.

Ink Masters

Teacher: Jordi Vanover

Want to be the king or queen of screen? Advertisements, concert posters, t-shirts…all of these use some really artistic techniques to catch your eye. We will be exploring a variety of these techniques involving printmaking and screen printing. In this class, you will learn how to print images using inks and your own drawings! You will even get to showcase one of your own designs on a t-shirt to wear wherever your heart desires!

Build or Sabotage

Teacher: Cheri Hall

Which will you do? Each day you will have an opportunity to solve puzzles and mysteries to earn tickets. Using these tickets, you will face one major, strategic challenge - will you use these tickets to help your team and build structures OR will you use them to sabotage other groups to slow them down?

Rockstar

Teacher: Doug Adams

Have you ever dreamed of being the front man in a rock band or playing an epic drum solo?  Or maybe just playing guitar for folks down at the local coffee house?  This class maybe your ticket to stardom.  In this class, we will explore a wide variety of percussion instruments, guitar, bass guitar, vocals, and drums.  We will also look at ways to record and promote music so that music can become more than a hobby and can grow into a part-time or even full-time job.

Game Zone

Teacher: Tressie Sigmond

You have entered…the Game Zone!  A place for students to test their skills with exciting games and problems. Students will begin by evaluating a variety of strategy games and combine this with your own creativity to design and develop your own games! What are you waiting for…there are games to be conquered and problems to be solved!

Bridging the Gap

Teacher: Jason Andrew

Bridges are an essential part of transportation and come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the structural engineering, design, and workings of many types of bridges. Working as a team, students will enjoy fun and exciting hands-on bridge building activities and compete against other teams by testing the structural support and weight bearing capabilities of their bridges.
